The BEST Carmels Recipe from SEE'S Chocolate..

This is the all time BEST Caramel Recipe from See's Chocolate
It is a recipe from a candy maker who we know.. who developed the See's Carmel.. :) and you are going to laugh at how EASY it is to make..lol I took this recipe to my son's school for his party.. we did caramel apples.. and EVERYONE wanted the recipe. well I thought.. Okay if everyone there wants it.. why not share it with you.. :) HUGS

Caramels
1 can 14oz Sweet/cond Milk
1 cup Butter (the real stuff)
1 1/2 cup Light Corn Syrup
2 cups Sugar (white or brown I use half and half)
1/4 t. Salt
~Stir all together. Cook on medium heat in a heavy saucepan until 225 degrees for Carmel dip 234 degrees for caramels or Carmel apples. After it has reached the right temp. add 1 t. vanilla.
Makes 4-5 cups

for black Licorice Caramels
add 1/2 t. anise oil
and only 1/2 t. of vanilla
1 t. black paste coloring
**and use only WHITE sugar..

Okay I have to admit.. these colors I don't know why.. but they were so hard for me to work with.. I swear I did like 3 different things, and didn't like any of them.. So then I had to make a treat bag for my little boys teacher for the Halloween party.. and I thought.. What they hay.. lets try these colors.. WOW!! the funny thing is.. I rather like how this turned out.. I guess it was just one of those.. get out of your comfort zones and just go for it moment.. so here is what I came up with.. I really hope you like it..

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #1 blog candy/freebie

Hey everyone!!! It's finally here.. Now you can play along with The Play Date Cafe Challenge. Can you tell I am sooooo EXCITED!!!!!! Each challenge will go for one week, where you will be inspired by the design team, there will be prizes, and special buttons for your sidebar for the winners of the challenges, and a lot of good people to have fun with and to inspire you. The women that are playing the challenges have A LOT of amazing talent. I hope you will come and join us and play along this week with us and every week after... Here is the CREATIVITY CHALLENGE for week 1 that the amazingly talented Julie came up with. I love the colors.. so much fun, and the inspiration for this challenge is so different from others. That is one of the things I love about the Play Date Cafe.. so come on and join us..

Here is the piece I made. I wanted to do something that went along with the photo for Challenge 1 but I wanted to make sure that it was a little out of the box.. so a little witch hat is what came to mind. I ended up covering a styrofoam "tree" one from the craft store. I made the base of the hat out of cardboard and covered it with paper. I then punched out 1" circles and glued them ALL over.. I took a piece of orange cardstock and wrapped it around the base of the hat. I then made a FREE OWL Digi Stamp(scroll down to bottom), when I envisioned this hat.. I thought automatically of a cute little owl.. so I made one up..I then added some white string a button spider with googly eyes too. I hope you are inspired and want to come and play with us at The Play Date Cafe.
