holiday planner...

each year, i make a holiday planner, and this year, i'm recycling a tim holtz  package, for the base of my 2010 planner.  i used alison's adorable digital santa, along with some my minds eye papers.

here is what the package front looked like when i bought it.  this is an easy way to make a album, for those who don't have a binder it all.
this is how it looked inside, with the tickets removed.
see the stubs of paper left over on the spiral binding?  i cut and pasted sheets of kraft paper to the fronts and backs of each stub.  you can see this done below.
i did shorten the length of the pages, so the album was more square than rectangular.  i added tabs to each page.  now, all i need to do, is add pics and decorate!
i have last years planner and template on my blog today, if you are interested:)  thanks so much for coming by today!

You've Got a Friend In Me

Hi Everyone,

This image is from the fundraiser collection (scroll up) for Alison's Dad. I simply love the image...it can be used for so many different occasions. I am using it for a get well card for a friend. But, I can easily use it for Christmas, winter or "thinking of you" cards.

I colored them in with Copics and used Polymark Dimensional Paint for the snowflakes.

Please visit my blog for more info on the card.

Hugs,

Marcy

Been fidling agian

This is just a quick pop-in-pop-out to show my lasted digi fiddle.

I asked for this sand castle image because I know it would make a really unusual New Home card.  make it huge for a big card - shrink it weeny for a small card

New card

Sometimes I worry about my thought process!

One of the new SNB images this month is a really cute fruit slice

Did I think 'ooooh love stuff' ? - naugh - not me - 'oooooh COCKTAIL'S'

So I came up with a winter get well card.  The lemon 'slices' are copic coloured. have a tenny tiny gem in the centre and a swish of glitter on the segments
oh - oh - oh - I could do a Winter one with 'Mulled Wine' and colour them orange

Spooktacular Gwen

Shadows of a thousand years rise again unseen, voices whisper in the trees,"Tonight is Halloween!"
Hello it's D'Anne. Just wanted to share another fun Halloween card layout with you. After coloring the image with Copic markers I heat embossed with Holographic embossing powder. The Holographic embossing powder gave the card a mysterious feel. The digital stamp used is located in the store here. Have a SPOOKTACULAR Day.

letterpressing technique...

today, i wanted to share a technique called letterpressing.  see the white letters on the kraft?  i was able to add the letters with an embossing plate, white paint and my big shot express.  i used alison's adorable teddy image on this card, with some of my seam binding ribbon

to do this letterpressing.
1. you apply paint to the embossing plate with a brayer or foam brush. i used the foam brush, but i do think the brayer will give more consistent results.

2. place your cardstock on top of this, along the the embossing pads and plates for your die cut machine.
3. run this "sandwich" through your die cut machine.
now, you have a painted embossed background paper to use on any projects.
have a question, just ask! ! thanks for coming by!

Simple tree box card

Hi all! Gunvor here. Today I want to show you a box card I made using the Simple Tree image. I printed it out, coloured it with Promarker pens (and a gold gel pen for the hearts on the tree), cut it out and mounted it on a stamped circle using an adhesive cushion.

When you close it, it looks like this:

You find the image HERE in the SNB shop.

If you want to try making a box card (I warn you - it's addictive! I have two more "blanks" laying around waiting to be decorated) you can visit my personal blog for more information.

Kitten Kalling

I am fiddling with the digis again!!!

Today I am using Dee the Dino from the Stretch n Bubbles shop

You know we always re-size digis to suit the mood?  - So how about making them teenie-weenie, weenie and adding LOADS of them to a patterned backing paper

This is printed on a pink background white spotted paper with all sorts of pinks/purples/browns/reds/blacks so it it is quite subtle, but if you left it in black it would be stornger

And the Final card??
Hay - would I let you down??

Frankensquare

Hey friends! This is D'Anne. I have a cute card to share with you today. I created this card using the 'Frankensquare' digital stamp.

I choose orange, dark orange, hot pink and bright green for the card layout. Not your traditional Halloween colors. Below is a close-up view of the colored Frankensquare.

I colored the digital stamp using Copics and then I applied 3D Crystal Lacquer. I wanted the feel of this card to have a more rugged look since it was for Halloween. Imperfections were expected! *-)

Sooooo many opportunities to customize the look of the Frankensquare stamp using either Copics, basic colored pencils, water colored pencils, or what about ...paper piecing and GLITTER! Frankensquare is located in the store here.
